The Beach.
Jen does her beach shoots only on the Gold Coast to avoid disappointment. Redlands beaches give a very different result due to the colour of the sand, the way the sun is in relation to the beach, how wide the sand is and the very tidal and muddy nature of the bay beaches. 2. The Forest
Perfect for maternity, the Redlands Forest location offers beautiful shots around 2-3 hours prior to sunset.
3. The Field
Field shots are subject to availability, as mowing, heavy rains and weather patterns change the look of the grass areas and can make them un-usable at times. If you choose a field location, we will confirm that it is ready to go on the morning of the shoot, and if not suitable, we will move to a park location. Wildflowers only occur for about 3 weeks of the year in very early spring, so cannot be guaranteed.
4. A park
Offering lots of variety and beautiful light, there are a few less well known parks that we can use for your photos in the Cleveland/Ormiston and Redland Bay areas.
4. Redlands waterfront and ‘beach’
Due to the harsh light at the Redlands beaches, the results will vary dramatically in comparison to Gold Coast beach shoots. The first half of the session is very golden and sun washed, and the second half will be darker with sunset colours. Results will vary according to whether it is low tide or high tide on the day, and on weather conditions. NOTE: these locations are good for a 20-30 minute mini shoot only. At low tide there is a lot of mud which can stain and be slippery. Not recommended if you have young kids if your shoot falls at low tide due to fall risk. At high tide, there is no beach, so photos will be taken from the grass or rocks.
